Edstart is an organisation set up to support Primary Schools in delivering PE and sports coaching sessions. Our coaches deliver high quality PE and sports sessions to children from foundation stage through to upper Key Stage 2 using the PE curriculum as a framework for school time delivery. We also offer extracurricular activities across a range of sports through the delivery of before / after school clubs, dinner time clubs and holiday clubs.

Main Duties
To plan, deliver and assess curriculum PE lessons to Primary School children from Foundations Stage through to Key Stage 2
To plan and deliver afterschool and holiday sports/Gymnastics clubs to children aged between 4 and 11
To promote after school clubs. (Head coach will be responsible for their after-school clubs, maintaining and trying to increase numbers throughout the year. Bonuses available if numbers increase)
To promote Holiday Clubs. Going into schools offering school/class assemblies, promoting through social media and leaflet distribution
Working closely with Edstart Apprentices’, mentoring and training them up to deliver in Gymnastics and sports across the curriculum
Work to tight deadlines, ensure lesson plans, pupil assessments and any other evidence of teaching and learning are recorded and submitted to your line manager at the requested time
Regularly monitor sports equipment and report to line manager any lost or faulty equipment
Pay ongoing attention to health and safety by following Edstart’s policies and procedures at all times to ensure all sessions are conducted in a safe environment
Ensure registers are completed for all afterschool and holiday clubs with regular updates being submitted to HR Manager
Commute between Primary Schools in order to fulfil coaching obligations
Work closely with your Line Manager and adapt to changes in your work load at short notice

We have lots of career pathways within Edstart, ranging from casual hours to full time management opportunities. Many of our franchisees started as casual sports coaches within other areas and progressed to become their own manager.
Will I be employed by Edstart or work as self-employed?
All new recruits will be employed by Edstart and given all the necessary initial training.
What hours are available to me?
Depending on your suitability for the role, you will be offered hours based on your professional credentials.
What qualifications do I need?
Coaching experience is required, as well as a variety of coaching qualifications. Most of our current staff are qualified to a degree level. Extra training on safeguarding and first aid will be given during the recruitment process.
